Blood and Honor

Back against the rusty metal barrier, his grey-blue arms straining to hold the weight, Khugan, mighty paladin of the Able Bon Ness, giant-kin warrior of the Munakinga, watched the last of his wounded companions crawl to safety beyond the massive gate. In front of him, massive tentacles surged from a deep, dark pool, sickly white, hungrily searching for prey along the stone floor. Out of time, Khugan steeled himself in the face of certain doom. With a confident grin, he released his grip, hearing the squeal of rusted metal as the portcullis slid down. He drew his great sword, kissing the rune of his clan on the hilt. Death may have come for him, but he would meet it, face-to-face, with blood and honor.
